Our Black Forest tours naturally expand into the neighboring Alsatian Villages region as the whole Upper Rhine Valley shares a common cultural background. Travel with us back in time when the Alsace and Alsatian Villages were part of Germany. We will visit the old German villages of Kaysersberg and Riquewihr which are beautifully located at the foot of the Vosges mountains close to the old border between Germany and France.
Alsatian Villages Attractions
With its fabulously preserved 16th century village center, Riquewihr attracts many visitors who enjoy the lively history, but also a glass of the famous “crémant”, a sparkling wine that rivals even the finest champagnes. Kaysersberg, not far from Riquewihr, charms the visitor with its laid-back and rural atmosphere. Once the site of an important imperial castle, Kaysersberg nowadays is one of the most famous wine producing villages in the Alsace.
This tour can be extended into a full day excursion by adding Colmar, the wine making capital of the Alsace. The tour is available all year round.
