This Black forest World War II Tour a highly specialized tour born out of my desire to ensure that the men who have fallen in the liberation of the world from Nazi Germany will never be forgotten!
We are focusing on a small area of the Blackforest, the Kinzigtal.
Blackforest World War II Tour: Part of Our History
On our Blackforest World War II Tour will be travelling North to the Kinzigtal. Our first stop will be a typical Blackforest farm house. The farm belongs to a family who has lived through WW II and has first hand experience of life in those days, “Life on the Homefront”. From there we travel to Haslach where we will explore the differences between WWI and WW II in the Blackforest.
After a traditional three-course Black forest lunch in a restaurant, which has seen much more history than “just” two World Wars we head to the momorial of the concentration camp of Haslach. Here we will learn how much evilness has been inflicted in the Black forest; but we will also hear stories of kindness of the civilian population.
Blackforest World War II Tour: The Story of The Pink Lady
Finally, almost on our way back we will visit the place where the “pink lady” was shot down in 1944. This part of our Black forest World War II Tour celebrates the “Liberation of the Black Forest” from Nazi Evil.
